Frequently asked Questions

Can I meet you before committing to support?

Absolutely! This is something that would need to happen before support starts anyway.

If I am to support you, then you are welcoming me into your world and sharing your worries with. You need to be completely happy with the support you are receiving. On top of this I need to develop a support plan, and the only way to achieve this is to meet with you beforehand so that I can gather as much information off you as possible and to find out what support you are looking for. This visit is completely free of charge.

What if I meet you and decide you are not what I am looking for?

These things do happen. Sometimes personalities do not match and you do not have anything in common.  You may wonder why this matters, but remember when you are working closely 1 to 1 with someone, it is very important you are comfortable with each other.  If you do not feel that support will work then I will not be offended.

Will you turn down support after meeting with me?

Although this is rare and unlikely there are sometimes occasions that this can happen. The only reason I would turn down supporting you is if I feel your needs are greater than what I can offer to help you.

Do you have an up to date DBS check and references so that I can double check you are who you say you are?

I certainly do.  I have an Enhanced DBS Check which was completed in September 2023

I can also give you the details of my referees, some of these are current and previous clients.

I need to cancel, will I still get charged?

Due to the fact that any last minute cancellations means I am unable to secure more work before your support commences I do therefor charge for cancelled support.

If you were to cancel with less than 7 days notice then you will be charged the full rate of your session.

If you were to cancel with more than 7 days then you will not be charged.

Do you provide a contract?

During our initial meeting I will provide you with a 'Service Agreement' that will need to be signed and agreed before support commences

Can you be flexible with support times?

I always try to be as flexible as possible. You may need support with something one week which doesnt fall into our normal times, for example a dr's visit or dental appointment. If you need to change your support times occasionally then please dont hesitate to ask as I will always contact the client I am due to be supporting when you need me, to see whether they are happy to swap.

The only time I cannot be flexible is if you need support on a Sunday or Monday, as those are my days off, and I am usually either with family or away with my wife in the North East of England.
